Actually the prefrontal cortex part of the brain matures at age 25 which is ironic as the insurance companies drop your auto insurance rates considerably at age 25 as well because we think things through and are more likely to be more safety conscious.

we are definitely not "biologically adults" at 13 or 14.

Will self reg. work with ODD behaviour?

  • Total Life Counseling Center

I just released some diet and vitamins which are good for most with Bipolar instead of medication. However, it’s very important to discuss these options with your doctor. The item is StressLess with Alternatives to Medication on my StressLessSeries website.

He is talking about the history. I think most people are IGNORANT of this history. And thus have no PERSPECTIVE of what childhood COULD be like other than what they see right now or what they saw as a child. History is important, and so is our desire to use it to understand perspective, values, principles…

“Our youth now love luxury, they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders, and love to chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.” – Socrates (469-399 B.C.).

The notion of education from the industrial revolution. Too much emphasis
on giving power to children, without consequences. Children take advantage
    so called ‘modern day parenting’.

Thanks for your comment purity4all. ODD can start earlier than adolescence, but this 10 minute excerpt is just a part of the StressLess with Defiance video available at StressLessSeries website.
When viewing the entire video there is more information on Defiance with children and teenagers. The history of adolescence is very important for teens that start showing signs of defiance in adolescence.

@MsPollywogg 22, actually, but that has very little to do with whether or not you’re ready to live on your own…the brain can also "develop" at 42 because of neuroplasticity, does that mean the 42 year old should dependent on their parents?
