Awesome video!!! So helpful.. I will try your advice!!!!!!!!!!!
I am crying while watching this video because my mom just yelled at me
yelling at you’re child makes them hate them selves for what they have done. I’ve been yelled at my whole life and im consonantly reminded of how much I do bad things. ex. (My name) apologize for all the bad things you’ve done. its not like you feel sorry for yelling at me nope, im the piece of garbage.
if you want a suicidal child yell at them .
Thank you
Thanks for the video, it’s a great one…
A lot of Africans yell and screaming at kids.Like where I am Massachusetts.
I yell alot i feel bad
Completely agree with everything. Another thing is lack of taking care of your health. For example, you don’t rest well you are more prone to be angry, lack of patient, yelling ect…
@ErinKurt (I hope you get this tag)? not sure if I’ve done it right…
I deal with depression and I SO MUCH Mum Guilt, if i physically spk about my mum guilt I ball I can’t talk about my mum guilt without crying…
I scream and shout (and shamefully and sadly swear, a lot) 🙁
My kids are BAD kids but they push and push and push and push because they know I’m all talk and barely and action, or I hand out punishments like.. if they don’t eat there tea (unless there genuinely full) there punishment is no afters i won’t take away there supper because I don’t want them to complain there hungry… so THERE getting a ‘punishment’ but I’m comfortable about it :-/ it’s not really working though. most of the time, they know that if they go on and on I’ll just give in for peace and quiet and I wanna say no heartbreak but the fact that they go on instead of taking my first answer grinds me down.
I’m SO glad I came across this channel and i’m most definitely going to be doing these steps XO I’m desperate for them to respect me…. I don’t want them to be scared into doing as i ask but I do want them to do as i say when say it, i find it really frustrating when they don’t listen to me but do their dad, or they’ll listen to me BECAUSE dads in the room :-/
Again, I’m going to start these steps they next time I need to which will be supper time in, 40minutes xx
My parents yell at me and when I calmly let them know that it hurts me they laugh at me and don’t take it seriously
great video! I think it is also important to note how terribly counterproductive it is to scream at children. It’s probably best to apologize to the child so they know that it isn’t acceptable behavior and then start working forward again with positive strategies like in this video. (writing this for myself)
this is so true.. thanks
Im hiding in the bathroom watching thos video and crying… im so guilty for yelling at my 2 year old almost everyday and i regret every single day.. hes an extremely hyper kid and wants to do EVERYTHING HIMSELF. Which results in disasters everyday. Im a stay at home mom and i see my toddler 24/7, no break. Im so tired and frustrated that i yell at him and im irritated with ever single thing in my life right now. Including my husband. I get super annoyed with him on so many things. Sighhh… i keep reminding myself that its only a phase and it will get over. But i need to calm down before its too late 😢
You are so very right. It’s always best to apologise to your child and reiterate that in your family you don’t yell, so you’ll work on it. Thanks for commenting!
My mom yells at me, when I tell the truth about something, then I started crying
Made me cry while watching this video as a mom of twin toddlers and a four year old the self care aspect is so important
