So many questions run through your mind ( how to deal with tantrums , how to survive the terrible twos, what to feed my child..) Parenting in Norway is even harder because of the parenting techniques in Norway which are so different from my upbringing.
Scandinavians in general share the same child rearing technique. There has been a big discussion on intrusive governmental practices when it comes to child welfare in Norway. As some of you know by now the norwegian child welfare service called barnevernet is very strong and there are many on going cases here about them taking kids away from their parents. I will not be mentioning this subject on my channel because I’m not well educated on it and think its a very touchy subject but I had to mention it because a subscriber mentioned it in one of my prior videos.
In a nutshell this is the scandinavian parenting techniques recapitulated :
– Early bed time , Norwegian parents believe a child should be in bed by 7 pm
– They take health very seriouslyand make sure their children are well supplemented in vitamins
– They believe children should be out as much as possible. Norwegian love being out in the nature and believe that fresh air does a child good.

if you dont breastfeed with really good reason. ur selfish.. cuz its insane important..not cuz or the food, but for the human relation between mom and child.. i liked your vids. but really.. u shouldnt look at breastfeeding on such light view,, google the importance. putting the kid into bad at same time every day is important. cuz ALL kids from 0-12 needs at least 10-12 hour straight sleep…
Happy new year hun, This was interesting to watch, to see how different cultures are even right here in Europe. I have a good friend who lives in Norway and she told me about leaving kids outside. I was in shock considering the way the weather is set up there. At 8pm we are just having dinner here in Italy. In the summer, we are out with the kids for late ice creams as late as 11pm. You adjust the way you do things depending on your surrounding but some things can be hard to adapt to.
Parenting is between parents and children. Do what is best for you.
I find it fascinating, as a product of of northern European immigrants. Many of the observations you made crossed the ocean. It brought a smile to me , especially the stroller. I find your observations fascinating and relate them to my friends. Like everything, well where I live, you make your way through life,if it is a little different, well then you get the stares and comments. You and your husband, sounds like you will raise a well adjusted son. Oh ,in my house Fridays, is nacho and chili night. It must be the swedish blood in me, lol.
